JONATHAN LOVITZ RAISES OVER $150,000 IN PA HOUSE DISTRICT 182 RACE
For Immediate Release
January 31, 2022 | Philadelphia, PA – Center City community leader and experienced legislative advocate, Jonathan Lovitz, announced today that he has raised over $150,000 since the launch of his campaign in April 2021. The campaign currently has over $109,000 Cash on Hand, and a comprehensive plan to get out the vote for fellow Pennsylvania Democrats in the Spring 2022 primary.
“I am so grateful for the hundreds of donors and supporters across PA and throughout America who continue to join our movement to make a difference. They have seen me deliver on my promises over a lifetime of community service, and know I will keep on delivering for Philadelphia ahead. My supporters know I’m not just raising to ensure I win my primary, but also to be able to help fellow Democrats win races that help us grow our party and our progressive coalition throughout the Commonwealth,” said Jonathan Lovitz.
“My passion for public service is rooted in a belief that when we all do better, we all do better. I’m fighting for the safety and success of all workers, and supporting the importance of our unions; affordable and inclusive healthcare and housing; essential services for our seniors and veterans; gun-free, fully-funded schools; supporting our arts and culture institutions; preserving our environment; and protecting Philadelphians’ vote. The fact that we are approaching the primary with so much support from Philadelphia and across the nation signals that seeking to truly help people is the message voters want to hear. From unions to business owners to teachers to community leaders, my neighbors in Philadelphia are fired up and ready to work with me to make a difference,” Lovitz adds.
As mentioned in a recent press release, Lovitz enters 2022 well-positioned to win, thanks to:
The MOST ENDORSEMENTS, including being the only candidate with labor union support. Labor leader Ryan Boyer and Laborers’ District Council were the first to support Lovitz’ campaign, followed by the first-ever endorsement by Philadelphia Musicians’ Union Local 77. Dozens of elected officials, business leaders, advocacy luminaries, and artists have announced their steadfast support of Jonathan’s candidacy. Congressman Ritchie Torres, with whom Lovitz has authored multiple pieces of local and federal legislation, said “”I’ve seen firsthand his dedication in the rough and tumble of politics…[T]here is no one who fights harder for our communities than Jonathan Lovitz.”
The MOST LEGISLATIVE AND CONSTITUENT SERVICE EXPERIENCE, making him ready on day one to get to work on behalf of his constituents in the State Capitol. In the last five years, Lovitz has been responsible for writing and passing more than twenty-five state and local laws, including right here in Pennsylvania, opening up billions of dollars in contracts and economic development to small business owners, including minorities, veterans, those with disabilities, and LGBTQ-owned entrepreneurs. In this time, Jonathan has been honored by organizations throughout Pennsylvania and across America for his leadership on issues including saving small businesses, fighting for equality, and advocating for anti-violence and civic engagement.
The MOST COMMUNITY & BUSINESS SUPPORT of anyone in this race: with over 600 donors representing every community and constituency in his district, Lovitz’s message and experience clearly resonate with the public. As the nation’s official LGBTQ news outlet of record in the White House Press Corps, The Washington Blade, said in its endorsement: “Voters, donors, and our national advocacy organizations should support his bold campaign and help retain an out LGBTQ voice in Harrisburg while improving constituent service for residents of the district… Lovitz stands out as the strongest choice.”
Lovitz is drawing on over a decade of experience passing bipartisan legislation that helps working families and small business owners, bringing communities together to solve problems, and improving the relationships between the people and their government.
Jonathan is running to represent the people of Center City Philadelphia in Harrisburg by continuing to use his advocacy, policy, and legislative skills to further listen to, fight for, and care for his Philadelphia neighbors. As Jonathan always says, “Let’s make a difference!”
